OFFICIAL RIO+20 EVENT
PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN UNESCO AND INSTITUTO-E
Award inspired by Instituto-E criteria, in which concepts and practices of social, environmental, and governance sustainability are implemented from an entrepreneurial perspective.
The E-Award was the fruit of the partnership between Instituto-E, UNESCO, and the Rio de Janeiro City Hall. Its objective is to award the most significant initiatives promoting socio-environmental development undertaken and based on the Rio 92 Summit principles.
The award was classified according to the 6 E's: earth, environment, energy, education, empowerment, and economics. And two other special categories: the national and international e-brigaders.
The first edition of E-Award was held on June 16, 2012, as part of the official Rio+20 calendar. The event honored actions that have contributed the most to sustainable development since ECO-92.
